2014 Autumn Sweat Lodge Sunday, October 12 at 9 AM

Sweating Your Prayers is a demonstration of faith beyond the limitations of the senses.

Participants are requested to arrive no later than 9 AM.  Special arrangements can be made for a later arrival with one of the leaders. Please wear comfortable 100% cotton clothing and bring at least two towels.  Participants will be invited to enjoy our pool after the ceremony.  Also each participant is requested to bring a covered dish to share or be prepared to contibute to the purchase of lunch items for the post Sweat Lodge feast.

Sundancers Justin Coleman and Sharon Hickey along with Spirtual Leaders Allen and Shirley Boyd will be leading and facilitating this Sweat Lodge.  (Sun dance ceremonies include dancers being ritually pierced, the object of the sun dance is to offer personal sacrifice as a prayer for the benefit of one's family and community. The dancers fast for many days while Sundancing, and the ceremony takes place over a four day period. The ceremony is held outside in the summer time, in the open air, not fully sheltered from the wind, sun, or rain. The ceremony commitment for men is often 7 years of dancing each summer for the benefit of their family and community).

There is a $25.00 donation requested to help defray expenses of the Sweat Lodge.
